Photographic Competition 2009- 2010

The aim of the competition is to encourage entrants to take new photographs and seek out older ones to be added to the Society’s photographic collection. Entrants should submit images which represent an aspect of Etwall past or present. Content is more important than technical merit.

Photographs must have been taken within the ancient parish of Etwall, that is, Etwall, Burnaston and Bearwardcote.  Entry is not restricted to current residents of the parish.

Photographs will be scanned and adjusted in size for potential inclusion in the 2010 Well Dressing Display.  They will then be put into the Society’s archive and may, at a future date, be offered for publication elsewhere by the Society.

Entries may be submitted in any size up to A4 and in black & white, colour, transparency or digital formats.  Entries should not be manipulated. They will be scanned and returned to exhibitors if name and address are attached.  Entries are free of copyright.

There is no entry fee, or limit to the number of photographs submitted. Each class will be judged by a panel of judges appointed by the Society and their decision will be final.

Prize Money:  For the winning entry of each class the prize will be £25.00

Entries to be submitted to Derek Roome, 12 Etta’s Way, Etwall, DE65 6NH, email fred.nurgler@btinternet.com, between 1st October 2009 and 16th April 2010.

Entrants must endeavour to comply with any relevant legislation.
